Removing Coffee And Mud From Your Carpet
Some carpet stains are not difficult to remove if you act quickly once the stain has been made. But if the stain and other buildups are left over a period of time, the a professional will have to be called in.
Coffee is a common stain and difficult to remove because you not only have the coffee stain but also the creamer that you added to it and also anything else that was added to the coffee. What you will need to remove this stain are some cotton cloths, a carpet cleaner spot remover and a mixture of water and distilled vinagar. One part distilled vinagar should be mixed in a spray bottle with 3 parts water. Set this mixture aside for later.
Now we are ready. Blot up as much as the coffee as possible with cotton cloth and then spray the carpet cleaner spot remover on the area of the stain. Let it set for a few seconds then blot it up with another cotton cloth and then repeat to remove the creamer stains. Now we are ready to remover the coffee stain with the vinegar and water mixture we set aside. Spray this mixture on the stain and let it set for a few seconds then blot it up with another cotton cloth and repeat. You should keep traffic away from this area until its dry. You may use a fan if you wish to speed up the drying process.
If someone happens to track mud on your carpet, don’t get too upset, for it should be removed quite easily. Just let the mud dry first before doing anything. Once it drys, just grab your vaccuum and use it over the mud. If anything is left you may use a brush on the mud to get rid of the rest. If there are still stains left, simply follow the procisure for coffee stains, using you carpet spot cleaner and your vinegar water mxture to remove the rest.
